An old adage instructs that good things come to those who wait. Waiting to make health care choices proves to be a major exception to the time-honored virtue of patience. Dental checkups, mammograms, prostate exams and physicals help detect problems early or address them before they turn into a larger problem. New research proves the value of early intervention to address back and sciatica pain.

Human beings tend to treat problems reactively rather than visualize problems on the horizon.  Preventative care and proactive of health decisions represent some of the smartest and most cost-effective approaches for the whole family. The brain tends to address issues of immediate concern. The brain usually waits (reactively) until pain presents before calling attention to a health issue. Too often the problem existed for a previous time and could have been addressed to a healthier end.

Compelling research published in October 2020 showed that early intervention proved to be an essential ingredient in achieving long-term health satisfaction. Improvements in functional disability, pain intensity, and overall satisfaction resulted for people who sought early therapy and manual care intervention compared to people who waited or elected to use drug-therapy. The standard medical process for people with back pain and sciatica usually involves drug therapy to mask the pain while waiting to see if the problem progresses. This reactive approach risks greater long-term expenditure and the dangers of regular use of powerful pharmaceuticals. The wait and see approach combined with pain medication acknowledges a problem exists but does nothing to repair, fix, or heal the issue but rather allows the condition to persist.

Chiropractic care and physical therapy interventions help address problems before they become bigger and more permanent. Chiropractors use objective and specialized testing to determine the location and extent of a problem that needs to be addressed. America prescribes more prescription drugs than any country in the world. That reality contrasts with parents and families making a conscious decision to raise children and pursue health choices that do not involve dependency or need for medications. Chiropractic and physical therapeutic healthcare continue to gain momentum and popularity because of research that reveals the benefits of working with the body and honoring its ability to heal itself. When it comes to health care, good things come to those who don’t wait.

Laura came to see us after a car accident with pain in both her neck and her low back. We suspected a disc injury, especially in her low back. One part of her treatment protocol is spinal decompression. Check out how we set her up.

Degenerative Disc, Bulging Disc, Herniated Disc, Thinning Disc, Spinal Stenosis, Sciatica…

Our clinic specializes in treating chronic severe back and spine problems using our breakthrough non-surgical back and spine procedure. We know those with chronic back discomfort have often tried several treatments with disappointing results and that they simply want a treatment that works.

Patients who were told they needed surgery were able to avoid the surgery with the decompression treatments. Our program is very successful even with the most difficult cases.

The benefits of a chiropractic adjustment go far beyond back and neck pain relief. Clinical evidence and patient results spanning the past 124 years suggest that chiropractic care uniquely influences whole body function by addressing spinal health.

The relationship between the spine and the central nervous system links chiropractic adjustments to improvements in many aspects of health, function, and human performance. Chiropractic benefits do not stay confined to merely helping adults with back or neck pain. Kids, adults, and the elderly all utilize regular chiropractic care for a variety of purposes. A 2017 research paper cited evidence gathered from a large population of adults who utilized chiropractic care. The study evaluated the predominant reasons why most chiropractic patients begin care and the unique results and achievements reported while under care.

Over 40% of chiropractic patients sought care for general wellness or disease prevention. Other patients pursued improvements in energy reserves, sports or athletic performance, and immune function. Another significant reason for care came from those pursuing memory and concentration benefits. During the course of care, patients attributed other benefits to improved nervous system care, including the ability to exercise more regularly, eat healthier, cut back or stop smoking, eat more organic food, and cut back or stop consuming alcohol.

An important question often asked by patients and other health professionals involves what makes a chiropractic adjustment so different than medical intervention. The biggest difference exists in the proactive intent of chiropractic. Medicine focuses on the treatment of a symptom, but chiropractic adjustments proactively induce motion and improved alignment of the spine with the intent to remove stress and interference from the nervous system. Reducing stress and interference through spinal adjustments empowers the nervous system to begin resolving correctable symptoms and health concerns within the body. This science explains why so many patients experience health benefits that initially seem unrelated to the spine.

The 2017 study determined that chiropractic care improved overall health and symptom relief in 67% of reporting patients. Another 42% of patients reported sleep benefits, 40% experienced reduction in stress levels, 38% identified a greater ease to cope with health problems, and 27% felt an improvement in their emotional health. The landmark chiropractic study also reported that 62% of chiropractic patients felt drawn to chiropractic because it treats the cause of health issues rather than just treating the symptoms. 38% reported an affinity to chiropractic because the natural health care pathway avoids the use of harmful and dangerous interventions. The first adjustment took place in 1895. Over 120 years of history testifies to people of all ages, race, color, and creed getting well and maximizing function and life experience through the benefits of chiropractic. People need not struggle through days filled with chronic pain, disease, and reliance on medications that produce harmful side effects. Chiropractic offers a relevant, proven alternative that invites a new season of health and vibrant life.

Hi, I just want to make a quick video about spinal decompression. You guys might’ve heard of this. My name is Dr. Aaron Casselman at Pinnacle Chiropractic here in Highlands Ranch. So this is a spinal decompression table and spinal decompression is a treatment that very gently, basically pulls apart decompresses the spine. And the goal is to target the disc. So this is for people who have disc injuries, disc irritations, bulging disks, herniated disc, etc. And by taking the pressure off it, we can decrease pain at the area. And also by pulling the disc apart, very gently pulling a disc apart, you can get bulges and even herniations to sort of draw back away from the edge of the disc towards the center. So if the disc is putting pressure on a nerve, for example, which goes down the leg, you can actually mechanically remove tension off of that nerve.

So done repetitively, you can actually get a disc which has a very poor blood supply and heals rates slowly. Typically in an adult, you can get a disc to heal using the spinal decompression therapy. So the table, again, it’s not aggressive. It’s a very gentle and slow treatment, but it can have very profound results. And typically we can do that on people with neck, disc issues and lower back disc issues. So some of the symptoms of a disc problem in a neck, aside from neck pain, is going to be numbness and tingling at your arms and hands in the lower back, the same thing. You can have numbness, tingling, and pain into the legs or feet in some people even get weakness in their extremities, weakness in the feet or hands. So on your first visit in the office, we would check for these types of things.

We do a full spinal examination and there’s tests that we can do in the office to see if we suspect there’s a disc involved without getting an MRI or something like this. In addition, we can take x-rays that actually help our suspicions that we maybe come across during our exam. So during the first exam and consultation, we’ll be able to determine if spinal decompression is something that would help you if you’re having a disc injury. And then at that point, we would determine if you qualify for the treatment. So we do have a new patient special that you can use for this type of thing. If you go to the website, you can find these things. And if you have any questions, just give us a call. Otherwise, thanks for watching. And if you think spinal decompression is something that could help you with a disc injury, just give us a call.

Many turn to Chiropractic care in search of relief from their neck or back pain. Too many other adults still follow a process of taking dangerous drugs or consulting with surgeons under the assumption that these options best serve their desire to live life free from pain. Few medical doctors understand the benefits of Chiropractic for disc herniations, sciatica, or radiating arm or leg pain.

Research from 2014 showed startling results involving a group of adults living with back pain, leg pain, and disc herniations (confirmed by an MRI). Patients who received low back adjustments by a Chiropractor achieved extraordinary results. It showed 80% of patients reported substantial improvement after one month of care. After 6 months of care, 90% of patients with back pain, leg pain, and disc herniations reported significant benefits from spinal adjustments.

Millions pf people suffering with chronic pain begin using opioid drugs every week. Many thousands begin this process due to back pain. Chiropractic accomplishes so much more than simply providing an alternative remedy for back pain. Chiropractors assess alignment and movement of the spine while looking for problem areas which interfere with the delicate nervous system. Areas of misalignment and stiffness receive immediate attention through specific and gentle adjustments designed to improve biomechanics and communication within the nervous system. Pain relief represents one of many side effects of spinal adjustments.

Chiropractors do not treat herniated discs or other symptoms related to spinal conditions involving back pain, arm pain, or leg pain. Chiropractic adjustments improve spinal mobility and alignment and reduce interference from the nervous system to allow the body to better heal itself. Chiropractic represents a proactive first resort for those suffering from back pain, sciatica, or disc related issues. Evidence based results provide a health care alternative that renders invasive care as a last resort.

Science, research, and evidence substantiate the need for the type of care Chiropractic delivers. Chiropractic represents one of the world’s largest drugless healing professions and continues to gain notoriety and popularity in a world searching for alternatives to a health system that offers reactive care filled with dangerous drugs and invasive surgeries. Most problems in the spine occur without pain, symptoms or are left unaddressed until symptoms form. Subluxations form like cavities and occur slowly over durations of time. Chiropractors focus on educating as many people as possible. Education empowers individuals and families with a choice to experience the blessings and benefits that Chiropractic care provides.
