Hi, I just want to make a quick video about spinal decompression. You guys might’ve heard of this. My name is Dr. Aaron Casselman at Pinnacle Chiropractic here in Highlands Ranch. So this is a spinal decompression table and spinal decompression is a treatment that very gently, basically pulls apart decompresses the spine. And the goal is to target the disc. So this is for people who have disc injuries, disc irritations, bulging disks, herniated disc, etc. And by taking the pressure off it, we can decrease pain at the area. And also by pulling the disc apart, very gently pulling a disc apart, you can get bulges and even herniations to sort of draw back away from the edge of the disc towards the center. So if the disc is putting pressure on a nerve, for example, which goes down the leg, you can actually mechanically remove tension off of that nerve.

So done repetitively, you can actually get a disc which has a very poor blood supply and heals rates slowly. Typically in an adult, you can get a disc to heal using the spinal decompression therapy. So the table, again, it’s not aggressive. It’s a very gentle and slow treatment, but it can have very profound results. And typically we can do that on people with neck, disc issues and lower back disc issues. So some of the symptoms of a disc problem in a neck, aside from neck pain, is going to be numbness and tingling at your arms and hands in the lower back, the same thing. You can have numbness, tingling, and pain into the legs or feet in some people even get weakness in their extremities, weakness in the feet or hands. So on your first visit in the office, we would check for these types of things.

We do a full spinal examination and there’s tests that we can do in the office to see if we suspect there’s a disc involved without getting an MRI or something like this. In addition, we can take x-rays that actually help our suspicions that we maybe come across during our exam. So during the first exam and consultation, we’ll be able to determine if spinal decompression is something that would help you if you’re having a disc injury. And then at that point, we would determine if you qualify for the treatment. So we do have a new patient special that you can use for this type of thing. If you go to the website, you can find these things. And if you have any questions, just give us a call. Otherwise, thanks for watching. And if you think spinal decompression is something that could help you with a disc injury, just give us a call.
